First time out for 2009 was a quick blast into the Clwydians to blow out the cobwebs - easy going, making sure there were no problems with any of the mechanicals etc.
In prep for the 30th anniversary ASOC meeting a really good clean and polish was in order. So a good 4 hours was spent using Zymol shampoo and wax polish. Its wierd stuff, the wax - its put on in side to side motion rather than in small circles like most polishes. It then leaves a streaky effect as though its taken off some paint and left other behind (although there is no paint colour at all on the cleaning cloth) - its a subtle effect, but its a bit disturbing at first. A couple of hours later though, and it looks consistent and the depth of shine is superb. The polish cloth glides over the polished surface with very little friction across the wax. Lovely.
So that afternoon, a trip out to the local biker's gathering point seemed like a good idea. Callum loves going there for the bikes, Kathryn partially for the bikes, but mostly for the ice creams! Lisa came too as she's never been up there before. The cafe is the Ponderosa in the hills above Llangollen and it takes about 30 mins for us to get there. The weather was stunning, giving great views and brining out a large number of bikers. Even as late as 15:30 there were a couple of hundred bikes up there. Its a great, relaxed, atmosphere.

The car went well and we had a bit of a stroll as well as coffee, hot chocolate and ice lollies. Fav bike for me was the Duc 998 Tricolore, lovely.
