New Brighton Promenade Stages

Saturday 8th September 2007 will see the first ASOC meeting organised by the new North Wales co-ordinator (yours truly).
The venue is the promenade at New Brighton in the North West of England. It's 10 special stages of flat out tarmac in a very compact venue. Access to the service area too. There are 3 Sunbeams and an Avenger competing this year, so hopefully those guys will appreciate the support.
My 'beam should get a good clean out on the run up the motorway. Last time out (4 weeks ago! Have been on holiday and too busy since coming home) the car died in the centre of Ruthin - about 12 miles from home. The AA came out and we did some checking on sparks, battery condition etc. No luck. Checked for fuel in the filter (its clear plastic) and there didn't seem to be much in there. The AA guy suggested turning the motor over while he looked at the filter to see if there was fuel flowing. It fired up straight away!
A mystery, but we reckon the poking around had probably nudged a cable and brought the electric fuel pump back to life. The AA van followed me all the way home and there were no further issues. Last night I was out in the garage cleaning all the contacts up and squeezing the spade connectors tight to make sure there's no further issues. Again, it fired up no problem, so we'll see if it can behave itsself on Saturday.
