Hmm, more than half way through the year and a distinct lack of postings. Not good really. So I'll pack three in and then make an attempt to stay up to date.
So back in April and what was happening in the garage? Much gathering of dust it seems. Oh, and an annual service. Slapped in 6.5 litres of new oil (Valvoline VR1 which is a great quality 20/50 mineral oil), genuine Lotus filter (nearly £17!!! - but worth it as it has a non-return valve on board), new plugs, tyres checked, brake fluid checked (it'll need a change next Spring), tyre pressures checked (I run 30psi on the road, 35psi on the track), battery topped up, lights checked and all seems to be well.
I think the battery will be on its last legs this year - will get a new one in time for Mull in October. The battery has a 310 starting capacity, but its still a bit marginal for an high compression largish capacity four cylinder and standing around so much over the winter takes its toll. Tyres still looking pretty good. They're Yokohama's A032-R in the softer SS compound. They've got just under 2,000 miles on them and it looks like they might stretch to 3,500 - I suppose it depends on the number of track days this year.
