Introduction

OK, so it's part way through the year and I've finally had the time to kick off the blog.

Let's start with my car. It's a 1982 TALBOT Sunbeam Lotus, 2172cc, 153bhp at the rear wheels, quick steering rack, Bilsteins, 210lb rear springs with -2inch ride height, 195lb front springs with -1.5 inch ride height, Skip Brown 2inch exhaust, Cobra Daytona front seats, Outlaw 4 pot front brakes with vented discs, LSD, Yokohama A032R SS tyres. The car has just passed 21,000 miles this month.

Those of you in the know will have noted the colour scheme. It's Austin Rover Targa red and the stripe is painted on in Vauxhall Sebring Silver, not at all standard. That's because the car is not a factory original. I'll leave the build story to another post (or 6!) and keep this one to this quick intro.

Here are some links to the clubs of which I am a member:
I've already but over 1,000 miles on the car this summer. This year's work includes:
- New oil and filter (I use the genuine Lotus filter and Valvoline VR1 20/50 Racing oil)
- New spark plugs
- New water pump (£215 just for the part!)
- New cambelt and tensioner
- Rolling road tune (fitted a K&N air filter last year and the car was running a bit lean0
I run the car on Tesco 99 Superunleaded or Shell vPower, whichever is available, every 4th or 5th tank gets filled with proper leaded 4 star which is available about 5 miles from where I live - at £1.69 per litre, it needs to be used sparingly!
Will post about the Avenger and Sunbeam Owners' Club meeting soon. Cheers.
